- Depending on the pet and/or client needs these sessions can be divided into two 30 min sessions.
- Each 60-minute session comes with 2 weeks of email support from Liz.
- Topics taught during behavior therapy sessions may include:
- Management strategies for safety and avoidance of triggers.
- Teaching important life skills with marker based, positive reinforcement methods that can be used to prevent and solve behavior problems.
- Changing your pet's emotional state by counterconditioning and desensitizing your dog to the things that worry and frighten them.
- Relaxation and calming techniques.
- Coping strategies to use when your dog's environment is challenging.
- Response substitution strategies that replace undesired or aggressive behaviors.
- There may be other topics covered depending on your dog's specific needs.
- The number of Behavior Therapy Sessions a patient needs depends on numerous factors. At a minimum, 3- to 6 sixty-minute sessions are recommended. For multiple or severe problems, more sessions may be needed to achieve the best results.
